Garden Plain Elementary

I began teaching at GPE in 2017 and have been here since! I started off teaching 3^rd grade (all subjects), then moved up with the class to 4^th grade to teach Math and Science. I have been teaching 4^th grade Math and Science ever since!

I was married on November 1, 2014 to Glenn Lilly. He and I attended GPE and GPHS. We were one year apart in school, but our families have always been close.

I have two boys, Lawrence and Joseph Lilly. Lawrence was born in March of 2019, and Joseph was born in March of 2022. Their birthdays are 4 years and 11 days apart! We have plans for both of our boys to attend school at Garden Plain!

I have 2 dogs, Chubbs and Chief. Chubbs had a brother, Chunk, who passed away in March of 2022. Chief joined our family in December of 2021!

Hello!

My name is JoAnna Lilly and this is my tenth year of teaching, but my seventh year at GPE. I live in Garden Plain with my husband, Glenn Lilly and our two sons. My mother, Vera Werner, also used to teach. I actually used to go to school here….a few years ago. I went to college at Emporia State University, but transferred and graduated through Wichita State University. It feels so good to be teaching here at GPE. I am very excited for this school year. When I am not teaching, I am hanging out with my family!
