The National Weather Service in Wichita has expanded the * Flash Flood Watch to include portions of Central Kansas and South Central Kansas, including the following areas, in Central Kansas, Barton, Ellsworth, Lincoln, Marion, McPherson, Rice, Russell, and Saline. In South Central Kansas, Harper, Harvey, Kingman, Reno, Sedgwick, and Sumner. * From Thursday morning through Saturday morning. * Thunderstorms will develop over the area on Thursday and become more numerous by Thursday night. More rounds of thunderstorms are expected to continue through Friday night. With grounds already soaked from recent rainfall, this additional rainfall will cause flash flooding to occur over parts of the watch area. * Widespread 2 to 4 inches of rainfall are possible during this two day period with some locally higher amounts also possible. This will only worsen the on going flooding problems in the region.
